Cleveland County Wildfire Damage
Norman, Oklahoma, United States
13 August, 2012
On August 3, 2012, several large wildfires broke out across Cleveland County and rapidly spread north in the Red Flag conditions, burning close to 9,000 acres before finally being stopped near Highway 9 just south of Lake Thunderbird. You really don't realize how destructive wildfires can be until they hit close to home. Huge thank you to the firefighters and our thoughts go out to everyone affected by the fires.
