Nestled on the eastern slope of the Sierra Nevada, the Alabama Hills are one of Hollywood's favorite locations for filming cowboy and western movies. The main road through the hills is actually called Movie Road. We were short on time, so we didn't get to do the whole drive, but if you're in the area, I highly recommend checking it out. The geology is gorgeous.
