A Pandemic Polar Vortex in the Plains

A very powerful Polar Vortex swept across the American Heartland, bringing a frigid Arctic air mass as far south as Texas. In Oklahoma, wind chills dropped to -40, a value that doesn't matter whether it's Celsius or Fahrenheit. Then less than a week later temperatures soared to near 80°F. Oh, and there's also a foot and a half of snow, as well as a deadly global pandemic to contend with.
