Zion National Park: Lava Point Overlook

Virgin, Utah, United States

27 May, 2017

A little-known overlook perched at nearly 8,000 feet near the north end of Zion National Park, Lava Point offers a stunning 270-degree vista of the many different geological features of the park's diverse backcountry. The road to the lookout ascends nearly a mile in elevation through breathtaking rock formations and ecosystems in both the National Park and the surrounding BLM land. The last mile to the lookout is on a fairly well-maintained dirt road, so you may feel a bit more comfortable with a high clearance vehicle.
