Damaging Microburst and Severe Thunderstorm
ST. PETERSBURG, FL -- Video shot just after a wet microburst came ripping through slightly after midnight as part of a severe thunderstorm embedded in a cold front associated with the same system that caused the deadly tornado outbreak in Mississippi. The very tail end of the microburst is at the beginning of the clip. Gusts were easily in the 50-60 knot range, downing several large tree limbs. I missed filming the majority of the gusts as I was downstairs making sure my big glass door hadn't gotten blown out.
