Mogollon Rim
Payson, Arizona, United States
16 June, 2016
A 200-mile long dividing line towering over the low Arizona deserts, the Mogollon Rim rises to nearly 8,000 feet above sea level, forming the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. While the rim country can easily be seen from Interstate 17 or any of the major state highways running north out of Phoenix, if you want to experience the true beauty and serenity of the rim, you need to get off the beaten path and onto the forest service roads. Scars from the devastating Rodeo-Chediski fire in 2002 are still very apparent even 14 years later.
