Tuzigoot National Monument
Clarkdale, Arizona, United States
8 March, 2018
A little known National Monument that you probably won't even notice if you drive past it, Tuzigoot is just one of several National Monuments in Arizona that are home to well-conserved ancient puebla ruins. Inhabited by the Sinagua people from circa 500 AD to about 1425, the residents of Tuzigoot had many trade connections that spanned hundreds of miles across the region. Several Native American cultures, including the Hopi, Pima, Tohono O'odham, and Yavapai, trace their ancestry to the people that once inhabited this area.
